About Us
Marshwood Montessori is a family-owned boutique preschool in Glendowie, Auckland, guided by the principles of Maria Montessori and Te Whāriki. We welcome children aged 2–6 years, offering two purpose-built classrooms and outdoor spaces that encourage hands-on learning and exploration. We operate from 7:30am - 4:30pm.
In our thoughtfully prepared environment, children freely choose from a variety of Montessori materials. Within this calm, unhurried setting, we nurture independence, confidence, social skills, curiosity, and a lasting love of learning.
MIXED AGE
In our mixed-age classrooms (2-6 year olds), learning happens naturally, younger children are inspired by their older peers, while older children gain confidence by guiding and supporting others. Guided by the Montessori philosophy, we honour each child’s unique pace and nurture their individual journey of discovery.
FACILITIES
OUTDOOR SPACE
Our outdoor area features lush plants and grass, a gazebo, a small playhouse, and a playground with a sandpit, perfect for little explorers. Children can move freely between indoors and outdoors, following their interests throughout the day.
CARPARK
We offer ample parking for stress-free drop-off and pick-up.
FOOD FROM HOME
Children bring their own lunch, morning tea, and afternoon tea, and we encourage families to pack a variety of foods to support healthy eating and sensory development. We’re happy to warm food when needed.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Parents are valued members of our preschool community and are always welcome to contribute to the classroom by reading, sharing knowledge, or offering special skills.Throughout the year, there are many opportunities for parents and teachers to connect, including information evenings, celebrations, and excursions.
Our StoryPark platform keeps families connected with each child’s progress and invites them to share observations from home. We also host parent information evenings and have parent-teacher meetings as required. Families can also follow our social media to stay engaged with our school community.
